Gordon, N.A.,  Ground-breaking paper on patient safety.  Dr. Gordon was the first to publish a study scientifically showing that surgery on the face of longer duration does not create health risks and how it can be performed safely.  This paper was used to create the new patient safety initiative and Dr. Gordon was nominated to be the first Chairman of Patient Safety for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.  ARCHIVES OF FACIAL PLASTIC AND RECONSTRUCTIVE SURGERY 2006; Vol. 8: No. 1: 1-7
